There is no right or wrong way to go about having simplicity as your way of life.
There…I said it! You might not have been expecting it…or maybe you were…
There has been a lot of chatter lately around the simple living, minimalism, slow living camps about making the concept your own.
Why would we even want a cookie cutter approach? After all, we thrive on being individuals with our own unique personality. We come from different cultural backgrounds and live in all sorts of places. What is going to work for me is not necessarily going to work for you.
Tailor make simple living into whatever suits you. A word of warning though: your definition needs to benefit you not just be an excuse to throw away the bits you find too hard.
Your definition of simplicity is in your heart, not your head. Click To TweetGet quiet, go within and ask…then listen.
Whatever the answer, you’ll find that others have definitions that are similar and some are quite different. You will notice there are common themes and those are what brings us all together as a community.
If you are having trouble coming up with a single line definition, don’t worry, it’s not essential. What is, is that you know what is included and what is not.
This could simply be a list or my personal fave…a mind-map!
Alternatively, I’ve created a worksheet that you can use to make a list of what’s in & what’s out for you. Click on the link below to access the pdf.
I’d be really keen to hear your thoughts. Why not consider sharing your definition in the comments below. No pressure, it took me well over a year of trying things out before I whittled things down into what is in my welcome message.
From my heart to yours,
Kirsten x
